Fistula training for Dr Bosolo - April 2019
The women of Equateur Province will now benefit from new skills learned. Dr Bosolo Yoursen, Medical Coordinator for the Disciples of Christ Community in Congo’s six hospitals and multiple clinics that serve more than 1 million people, has received a diploma for fistula treatment from Dr Denis Mukwege, the 2018 Nobel Peace Prize winner.

Dr Mukwege is a gynaecologist working in the war-torn region of Kivu in the Democratic Republic of Congo. As the chief surgeon, he and his colleagues have treated more than 40,000 rape victims, developing great expertise in the treatment of serious gynaecological injuries. We applaud Dr Mukwege’s willingness to train others so that more women’s lives can be saved.
