Congratulations to Dr Diulu Kabongo, our Congolese colleague

Congratulations to our Congolese colleague Dr Diulu Kabongo, who has been elected president of the Association of Emergency Medicine in the Democratic Republic of Congo www.amurdc.org.

Before becoming a specialist, he practised as a GP in low-resource settings in several African countries. He obtained specialist degrees in family medicine and emergency medicine in South Africa.

His 'day job' is with International SOS Australasia while putting in many hours to improve emergency care in DRC through AMURDC, which he co-founded. He is a member of the critical care interest group of the International Federation for Emergency Medicine (IFEM).

We look forward to working with Dr Kabongo in coming months, as we plan our next medical mission to DRC in January 2023.
